Childbirth is not only about the ladies. Certainly, women have the task (and some might say privilege) of giving birth, but fathers are part of the journey too and are often left out when it comes to childbirth education, antenatal classes or prenatal preparation.
Well not anymore Melbourne! Beer + Bubs is a one-night session at the pub just for expectant fathers. It's a crash-course in how to support a women through childbirth, presented in a fast-paced format in the friendly surrounds of the local pub.
Expectant dads won't be bored to snores with more details than they need to hear about obstetric complications. Beer + Bubs really focuses on the role of the support person and what they need to know to help a woman have an easier, faster labour.
Here's what one expectant father had to say:
Simply put, remarkable. I went in thinking this might be a dumbed-down version of the birth facts for us 'dumb men'. But I was very surprised to see the topics covered were attempting to take us right in the moment of child birth - from the lead up to post birth when the mother is home.
I can not recommend this highly enough. Stuart
Expectant dads will discover how to be an active and effective member of the birth team to make the most of what can be one of the most memorable days of a man's life.
Beer + Bubs is at least twice a month in Melbourne. You boys are very lucky to have two or three venues to choose from.
Sessions cost $55 per person including dinner at the pub.
